Although she has only done a few adult DVDs, Stefani Morgan has become the hottest commodity in porn lately. She signed a contract with porn powerhouse Vivid and was rumored to be dating Motley Crue drummer and amatuer porn performer Tommy Lee. With an intoxicating smile and a body that will make you pass out, Stefani Morgan wants to be big. In this interview with XRentDVD's Big D, Stefani Morgan dispells the misconceptions regarding her involvement in the Girls Gone Wild videos, shares how she earned a contract before performing in one adult DVD, fills you in on her relationship with Tommy Lee and why you need to just shut up and leave her alone when she is watching a basketball game.
Big D: You are relatively new to the business but have made a pretty big impact in just a few short months. Did you get the itch to get into the adult industry from appearing in the Girls Gone Wild videos or was this something you had always wanted to do?
Stefani Morgan: I didn't start working for Girls Gone Wild until I signed my contract with Vivid. I've known (founder and CEO of Girls Gone Wild) Joe (Francis) since I was 18. He knew me when I modeled. He knew me when I took a break from modeling. I knew that I wanted to get into the industry. I dabbled with the thought for a while. I've always been very sexual. I didn't really tell anybody I was thinking about it. I had met some people that were affiliated with it and Joe overheard me talking with a make-up artist when I was down with him in Mexico at his house. He asked me, 'why haven't you ever mentioned this?' That's where it came from. He said, 'let me make sure you are doing this the right way.' Of course I had wanted to go to Vivid in the first place. So that's how it got started and I wasn't known as a Girls Gone Wild girl prior to signing with Vivid. I did work for them. I did hosting for them and I was in one of their infomercials. I am more of a host/personality for them rather than a girl that is lifting her shirt on a house boat in Lake Havasu.
Big D: You mentioned you knew you wanted to work for Vivid from the start. What made you want to go to them first without working as a free agent that can do work for all kinds of studios?
Stefani Morgan: I know what I am capable of doing and I don't do anything half-ass. My attitude is pretty much 'go big or go home'. It's harder than you think to get contracts. It's more of a pinnacle thing. I wanted to go straight to the best. I wasn't going to settle for anything less. I didn't want to take work as it comes. I wanted to be the best of the best.
Big D: You say it is relatively hard for girls to get contracts yet you got one without even making one movie. A girl like Keri Sable did a ton of gonzo before she got signed by Wicked. How did the whole contract offer come about?
Stefani Morgan: I knew that was not what I wanted to do. I knew what I was worth and I wasn't going to settle. I walked straight into Vivid and never dabbled with anything else. Vivid was my first experience with the adult world. I didn't go to anyone else. They called me as soon as I left the office and said they wanted me. I only wanted to go to the best. There was no way in hell I would have taken the shorter route.
Big D: Seeing how you have dispelled the whole Girls Gone Wild videos myth already, what about the things we are hearing about you and Tommy Lee? I've heard you guys are boyfriend and girlfriend and are totally inseparable. Other things I've heard are that you guys were together but have broken up. Another rumor was you guys are just friends and like to hang out. So what's the deal with you and Tommy Lee?
Stefani Morgan: We're friends. We met and we hang out. I don't really know how to classify it. We just hang out and we enjoy each other's company. It's funny in that any time two people are in a spotlight and they are somewhere together and instantly people say, 'oh my God, they are so serious and they are planning a future together'. It's like, whoa, whoa, whoa! We just went out to a club one night and everything was so overblown. We are friends and it is what it is.
Big D: You signed your contract with Vivid a few months ago and have appeared in a few titles like, Sunny and Star, and Rawhide is coming in April. What was it like when you walked onto the set for the first time?
Stefani Morgan: Sunny was the first adult DVD I did. They had my scene planned before I even signed my contract. I did my first scene not even a full two days after I signed my first contract. A couple of people that I do know that are affiliated with the industry told me to go to a set before shooting my first scene to check it out. I started modeling when I was 17 and I have been on modeling shoots before and it is the same generally. I am very confident in my own skin and I knew that I wanted to do this. There wasn't a question in my mind if I would feel comfortable doing this. If I don't feel comfortable with something I will make it known. I showed up on set and I didn't know anyone there. I wanted the full experience. I definitely didn't do any preparation before hand.
Big D: What was it like? Was it an eye opening experience for you?
Stefani Morgan: It's just porn. It amazes me how people are so surprised with the things that go in porn. Nothing surprised me at all. I guess it is just because I know how cameras work and I know how filming works. It's not that much different. Yeah, you have to do takes of some things and cater towards the camera. If you are acting toward a camera you are angling your face towards it, why would it be different if you are angling your body towards the camera. It's a common sense kind of thing. It's altered into a sex form. Nothing was too shocking for me. It all just kind of came natural.
Big D: You said you had done regular modeling since you were 17 years-old. What was the appeal of porn to not make you not want to pursue a mainstream modeling career and to walk right into Vivid and ask for a contract?
Stefani Morgan: I still have my regular manager. I am still working in the 'regular' world as well. I kind of put that off in order to get grounded in porn but I do plan on doing both at the same time. I plan on being a very successful cross-over. I am very free spirited and I like to do what I want to do. Sex is a big part of who I am. I am just a very sexual person. I love men. It's totally natural. All my friends weren't surprised when I told them I was going to start doing porn. This way I have more control of who I am. When I did modeling I just got bored with it. This way I have more control of my own image. I am going to be 'Vivid Girl, Stefanie Morgan', in any magazine or publication I appear in. I love being a sex symbol. That way it gave me more control over my career.
Big D: I saw that you will recently did a photo shoot for a layout in FHM Magazine. When can we expect to see you in that and what was that like?
Stefani Morgan: That was a lot of fun. The photographer was amazing. The set was exactly the way I wanted it to be. It was weird because they had the same vision as I had without even talking with them. It's very innocent but at the same time it is very sexual. The article is going to be great. I can't really tell anyone what the article is about. My friends know but everyone else has to wait. It was a good experience. It will probably come out in about three months or so.
Big D: With only two titles out as of March, you must have a few more on the way. What titles are coming soon that the guys on XRentDVD can look forward to seeing you in?
Stefani Morgan: I have filmed 11 movies total. I've done six features and five others that I am in. It's just a matter of post-production now. It takes about six months roughly to put one together. So now that six months has passed we should start seeing some come out once a month. It's finally starting to happen. I am so impatient too.
Big D: Who have you worked with so far and who are the people you hope to work with in the future?
Stefani Morgan: Gosh there are so many of them. I love working with Chi Chi LaRue. I love working with him. My sets are phenomenal with him. Everything is so great and I perform so well with him. Paul Thomas is one I love working with because he is big on the acting part. That's more where my roots are. In the industry we are in you really don't get to act that much but with him I do get to act. That gives me the best of both worlds. He really is talented and is really artistic. We butt heads a lot because of that. That's also why we have so much respect for each other. B Skow is our other director who I haven't really been able to work with yet. I have worked with him other times but I haven't shot a whole movie with him yet. He did Sunny and that was the one scene I shot with him. I've liked everyone equally as much because they all bring something different to the table. It's nice to have that diversity.
Big D: You always hear about contract girls having a very short list of male talent they will only work with. Do you have a list of the guys you like to work with?
Stefani Morgan: We do have a list of who we will work with. It is kind of who you click with. It's really hard to have sex with someone where there is no attraction. I think everyone can understand that. You develop a list naturally based on personalities. With production and when they are casting people for roles you can't cast a 20 year-old guy to play an older role. There are compromises. I am attracted to a lot of different kinds of people so for me it is not that hard for them to work with. They know my personality and they work with us all the time on set. When they are casting guys they know who we are going to work well with and who we will have a connection with. That helps a lot. We get to have the final say and they get to hear our bitching and complaining of 'oh no, I don't want to work with him'. The girls talk too. Let's say Monique (Alexander) works with a guy and she'll tell me, 'hey this guy was great. You'd love him'. Of course hearing that I will want to work with him. Definitely the input of the girls definitely helps.
Big D: Since the input of the girls is a big deal, who would you suggest to some of the other Vivid girls they should work with?
Stefani Morgan: It's kind of hard for me to suggest guys to those girls since I am newer. (laughs) I get all their leftovers since they have probably already done them. I really liked working with Eric Masterson. He was really, really, really sweet. My scene with him in Rawhide was phenomenal. There is a new guy, Derrick Pierce, he was an absolute sweetheart. We got along very, very well. Our scene was phenomenal as well. Manuel Ferrara. I worked with him in Sunny. He was really sweet. He was my first scene. It was funny because the people on set were telling him to be rough with me and to 'break her in'. He was so sweet. A little too sweet. He was great to work with. Luckily with Vivid I get to work with the best of the best. I really haven't had any bad experiences. Of course there are people that I connected better with but that is just a personality thing.
Big D: You just got done with a box cover shoot today, what was that for and what is on the horizon that is going to be released?
Stefani Morgan: I don't know in what order or when they will come out but today I just did the box covers for Look Don't Touch. I'll also be on the cover of Body Shots that comes out in June. There is also Make-up Sex, Sex and Violins and I also did Debbie Does Dallas: the Carwash. That one probably won't be released for a while because I will be shooting a big budget Debbie Does Dallas this summer. The smaller budget version will probably be released slightly before that one I'm guessing. I just resigned with Vivid in Mid-March so we weren't really planning on anything before that. They didn't want to make plans if I was going to go elsewhere and not resign with them. They wanted to make sure they had me on lockdown before they decided to pursue anything with me. I am sure in the near future I will definitely have a full schedule again.
Big D: Since you are with Vivid for another year, how far do you think you can take this career in porn?
Stefani Morgan: I want to be big. I want to as big as I can be. I still have my regular manager and I still go to castings for regular movies. It's kind of hard because I have to be more established with what I am doing because it is more of a title to be a 'porn star'. It's not something where I can gloss over it or leave that detail out. Right now my main focus is Vivid but I do have work in the regular, mainstream world. I do want to be a cross-over star.
Big D: First job?
Stefani Morgan: I never really had a real job. I started modeling at age 17 and I was going to college full time. My friends that were still in high school worked at a store called Hollister. It's owned by Abercrombie and Fitch. It's cute, short summer type apparel. I worked there but I really didn't do anything there because I was dating the manager. (laughs) I only had that job for a couple months and I only got it for spare cash. At that point I was going to college full time and I was a young adult. I was doing that on the days I wasn't going into LA to model. All my friends worked at that place so we pretty much all worked there so we could fuck around.
Big D: First concert?
Stefani Morgan: I don't even remember. I remember one of the ones I went to when I was younger was Blink 182. I know it wasn't the first but it definitely was one of the first big ones that I went to.
Big D: First car?
Stefani Morgan: Ford Explorer which I totaled. After that I had a Volkswagen Jetta. I've had five cars. Is that bad? I get bored really easily.
Big D: What's in your CD player right now?
Stefani Morgan: I was just now listening to The Fray. I have The Arcade Fire, Madonna's The Immaculate Collection which never leaves my car. I have Tommy's CD actually, Tommyland. Gavin Degraw and Madonna's new CD in there. Big Madonna fan obviously.
Big D: Favorite food?
Stefani Morgan: Sushi, hands down. That is my favorite.
Big D: First porn you ever watched?
Stefani Morgan: Oooh, you want to know what? I don't know. It wasn't anything like a feature or anything. It was probably like some four hour pounding type shit. You know like some gonzo type stuff. I do remember that the first porn I ever saw I was young. Me and my friend would sneak into my mom's room and watch porn when she was gone. We were like seven. I don't remember the titles but I do know they were gonzos though. I remember they were shot outside by a pool.
Big D: Favorite position?
Stefani Morgan: Doggy has always been my favorite. On camera I really like reverse cowgirl. I think it is a very flattering angle for the girls. Everything is just great. Definitely those two would be my favorite though. Reverse cowgirl is very flattering so I always try to squeeze that one in.
Big D: Go to the movies or go to the ballgame?
Stefani Morgan: Ballgame. I love sports. I grew up playing sports. Every sport I didn't play as a girl my brother played. I don't really have favorite teams, more like teams that I am biased towards for no apparent reason. I don't like the Steelers. At the Super Bowl everyone was giving me shit for that and were saying 'don't say that because there were a lot of Steeler fans in Detroit'. In football I am a Colts fan. I love basketball but I don't really have a favorite team. I love basketball games because they are so upbeat. In hockey I am a Kings fan because my sister dated a guy on the Kings. Plus I live in LA so that makes sense. I also like the Colorado Avalanche. I love sports. People will take me to games and I am like, 'dude, don't talk to me. I am watching the game'. I get really into it. It's funny. You would never guess that.
Big D: What modern convenience can you not live without?
Stefani Morgan: My cell phone.
Big D: Favorite mainstream movie?
Stefani Morgan: I have a lot of favorite movies. My favorite movies happen to be old classics. I love Marylyn Monroe. Ever since I was a little girl I liked Marylyn Monroe. One of my favorite movies is Let's Make Love. It's so cute. It's my recent favorite. I can watch it every day. I go in phases where I will watch one movie all the time for a month and then I will watch a different one all the time for a month. I am very habitual.
Big D: Favorite vacation spot?
Stefani Morgan: I love St. Bart's. That's a favorite. I have some good memories from there. It could change though because I am going to Europe this summer for a few weeks. I love anywhere tropical. Warm sunshine and sand. That's all I need to put a smile on my face.
Big D: Person you'd like to meet that you have not met?
Stefani Morgan: I don't know. I really don't idolize anybody so that is kind of a hard one. There really is no one in particular that I am dying to meet. There are a lot of people that I respect and admire but there is nobody that I am saying 'Oh my God, I need to meet this person'. I view people as just normal people.
Big D: Place you want to visit but haven't yet?
Stefani Morgan: Fiji. I have always had an obsession with Fiji for no reason. I haven't gone yet but I actually planned a trip a while ago and I ended up not going. My girlfriend that was going to go with me couldn't go. It would have to be Fiji just because I have wanted to go there for as long as I can remember.
